About
Andreas Schleicher is Director for Education and Skills at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). He is one of the founders of the International Student Assessment Programme (PISA) and has led major efforts to develop and transform education policies worldwide.
For over 20 years, he has worked alongside ministers and education leaders in various countries to improve quality and equity in education. Prior to the OECD, he served as Director of Analysis at the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA).
Schleicher studied physics in Germany and holds degrees in mathematics and statistics from Australia. He has received numerous awards and honorary distinctions, including a honorary professorship at the University of Heidelberg.
